Derek B. Simms founded Simms & Associates in 1999 after a career spent evaluating claims from the inside — first as a banking and insurance committee intern with the Arizona State Senate, then as a claims adjuster for a major auto insurance company, where he was promoted to senior bodily-injury adjuster. He has spent more than 25 years since applying that insight on behalf of people the insurance industry, and the state, are up against.
Derek has also been riding motorcycles for more than thirty years, and understands firsthand the hazards riders face on Alabama roads — along with the mistakes insurance adjusters often make when valuing a motorcycle claim. His practice is split between two dockets: defending people charged with crimes, and pursuing full compensation for people hurt by someone else's negligence.
